ALISO NIGUEL vs
TESORO HIGH SCHOOL (1-0) by
James Marshall
In the fifth minute of the game Danica Koos put
a spectacular ball up and over the defender
where Amanda Bates pounded the ball into the
right hand corner of the goal to put us up 1-0.
The defense took over shutting down Tesoro’s
offense giving them only a few chances in the
first half. The offense kept the ball on
Tesoro’s side almost all half. The score was 1-0
Aliso Niguel at halftime. We started the second
half taking the ball and keeping on Tesoro’s
side for almost all of the second half. At 30
minutes into the second half Tatum Smith took a
unassisted shot 15 feet out and placed it
beautifully in the left hand corner. The game
ended with Aliso Niguel winning 2-0. GK
Jakellene Palacios barely touched the ball in
the game. Great job Aliso Niguel JV girls for a
great season.

SAN CLEMENTE HIGH SCHOOL (0-0) by

The game went back and forth in the first half.
The defense held san clement from scoring and
the offense had their chances. GK Emily Elkins
had 2 saves in the first half. In the second
half we saw exactly the same hard fought game as
in the first half. The defense played tough and
the offense had a few chances to score. The game
ended in a tie 0-0. Gk Emily Elkins also had two
saves in the second half.

TESORO HIGH SCHOOL (1-0) by

In the 13 minute of the game Jordan Ansara
scored a unassisted goal. She pounded the ball
into the left hand corner of the goal to put us
up 1-0. The score stayed the same at halftime.
The defense played well keeping Tesoro from
having any great shots at goal. The game ended
with Aliso Niguel winning 1-0. GK Emily Elkins
had three saves in the game to help keep Tesoro
scoreless

The game was played in a torrential downpour. Do

ALISO NIGUEL vs
MISSION VIEJO HIGH SCHOOL (0-1) by
James Marshall
From the beginning of the game it was going to
be a tough match. Both teams fought hard, but
the score remained scoreless at the half. In the
second half Mission Viejo scored 6 minutes in to
lead the Wolverines 1-0. The Wolverines played
extremely tough to try to tie the score. Offense
had many opportunities. The game ended with
Mission Viejo winning 1-0. This was the
Wolverines first loss of league season.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL (1-1) by

The game started off back and forth and ended
with the score at 0-0 at half time. In the
second half Capo scored 7 minutes in to lead the
Wolverines 1-0. The defense played tough while
the offense kept on taking shots to tie the
score. The Wolverines finally scored with a few
minutes left. Kenya Roberson put a thru ball
right by Capo’s goal and Amanda Bates scored
with a solid shot into the left hand corner. The
game ended with a 1-1 tie.

DANA HILLS HIGH SCHOOL (0-0) by

The game against Dana Hills High School ended
with the score being 0-0. Although
the offense played very well and had several
chances to score; but, ended up falling short.
Once again the defense played very well. Sammy
Jo Prud’homme had three awesome saves.

ALISO NIGUEL vs
MISSION VIEJO HIGH SCHOOL (1-0) by
James Marshall
JV’s game versus Mission Viejo was a tough
match. With a 0-0 tie going into the second
half, the Wolverines continued to dominate the
Diablos. Fifteen minutes into the second half,
the Diablos scored from a free kick set piece,
but Aliso answered back in less than five
minutes. Ali Molfetta scored with the assist
going to Amanda Bates. The last fifteen minutes
of the game was a tough battle between the two
teams and the final score was 1-1.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL (1-0) by
James Marshall
Both teams battled to a 0-0 tie in the first
half with Jakellene Palacios making two saves.
Five minutes into the second half, Sara Wehan
served the ball to Amanda Bates who headed it to
her feet and then drove the ball into the net
for a 1-0 lead. The defense then took over by
again shutting out Capistrano Valley in the half
with Jakellene making two saves. Aliso Niguel
had numerous offensive opportunities in the
second half, but was not able to score again.
What a great way to open the season by winning a
close game on the road.

ALISO NIGUEL vs
EL TORO HIGH SCHOOL (1-1, PK's 4-5) by
James Marshall
The final game in the Edison Charger Cup for
Aliso’s JV was played against El Toro. Both
teams were evenly matched and battled for the
win. Being down one goal at half time, the
Wolverines dug deep to fight the Chargers. A
beautiful cross by Miranda Mills set up Tori
Hunter, where she evened the score at 1-1.
Jackie Palacios had 3 incredible saves before
injuring her finger and was replaced by Emily
Elkin who had 3 saves herself. Being the game
was to determine 3rd and 4th
place of the tournament and daylight was
limited, the game went straight to PKs. We lost
4-5 and took 4th place in the
tourney.

SUNNY HILLS HIGH SCHOOL (2-0) by
James Marshall
JV traveled to Sunny Hills High School to claim
their 2-0 win. Both offense and defense worked
hard and together to win another game. The first
goal was scored unassisted by Danica Koos from a
solid shot from outside the box. The second goal
was scored by Ali Molfetta and assisted by
Miranda Mills.

ALISO NIGUEL vs
ROSARY HIGH SCHOOL (3-0) by
James Marshall
Aliso JV hosted the upbeat and positive Rosary
High on 12/17. The first goal was within 3
minutes of the game by Narika Meshgin from a
through pass from Ali Molfetta. In the 19th
minute of the game, midfielder Amanda Bates
flicked the ball over the defender to
Tatum Smith, where she found the right lower
corner of the net for an Aliso goal. Seven
minutes later Rosary’s goalie made a save by
punching the ball out, but it found its way to
Jordan Ansara, who juked the defender and nailed
a solid shot to the left hand corner. The score
remained 3-0 for the duration of the game and
defense held Rosary away from our goal. Offense
was on fire, taking shots on the opponent, but
was unlucky in scoring anymore.

ESPERANZA HIGH SCHOOL (1-0) by

Although Aliso dominated the first half, taking
numerous shots on goal, the score at halftime
was 0-0. Starting the second half, the
Wolverines were pumped up and scored within 7
minutes. Alexa Watkins placed the ball
beautifully through the middle towards forward
Narika Meshgin who slammed the ball into the
right hand corner. Not only did the offense
dominate their opponent, but the defense shut
down any offensive opportunity by Esperanza.
Goalkeeper Jackie Palacios had 1 save for the
Wolverines.

ALISO NIGUEL vs
LONG BEACH POLY HIGH SCHOOL (2-0) by
James Marshall
Tonight's game against Poly had Aliso's offense
dominating the entire game. Although Aliso had
many opportunities to score, we settle with a
2-0 win. Starting the second half tied 0-0,
Aliso took immediate control to score 6 minutes
into the half. Miranda Mills, in an unselfish
play, crossed the ball to Sarah Wehan who nailed
the shot to give Aliso the lead. 10 minutes
later while the Wolverines were still fired up
and attacking the Jackrabbits defense, we scored
again. Amanda Bates flicked the ball over her
defender to Alexa Watkins who was on an angled
run, to pop the ball in the top right corner.
Once again, the defense played well, earning
another shut-out. This win makes it a five game
run on wins, GO WOLVERINES!

ETIWANDA HIGH SCHOOL (2-0) by James
Marshall
Once again JV girls took on another opponent,
but this time it was combined with the freezing
cold weather. The Wolverines beat Etiwanda 2-0
for the girls fourth win in a row. The first
goal was scored by Nairika Meshgin, with the
assist to Alli Molfetta. The second goal was an
own goal with credit going to Danika Koos for
the goal. Goalkeeper Emily Elkin had two saves
and once again- defense holds another shut-out!!

UPLAND HIGH SCHOOL (2-0) by James

Girl's JV game 12/5/09 Edison Charger Cup vs.
Upland. Aliso was victorious with a 2-0 win. The
Wolverines took charge of the game early on by
scoring in the third minute. A cross by Jordan
Ansara found its way in front of the goal and
Alli Molfetta scrambled with the goalie to knock
it in for a 1-0 lead for Aliso. In the 17th
minute of the game Aliso scored again by Brianna
Gilliam. Brianna's goal was a soild shot about
25 feet out and landed in the top left corner.
JV's defense held it's 4 game shutout!! Go JV!!

ALISO NIGUEL vs.
TROY HIGH SCHOOL (2-0) by James
Marshall
Tonights game versus Troy High School at home
ended in a 2-0 victory for Aliso. The first goal
was scored by Jordan Ansara, assisted by Alli
Molfetta in the 10th minute of the game. The
team held it's 1-0 lead at halftime dominating
the game. Second half, in the 50th minute of the
game, Aubrey Welsh scored off a rebound nailing
the top left corner. Goalie Jackie Palacios has
an incredible game with seven saves to help the
defense hold their three game shutout.
